New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Lighting Systems Contract

Guth DeConzo, an Engineering and Construction Management Firm with offices in New York City, Troy, NY, Lake Success, NY and Stony Brook, NY, has been awarded a $10M contract for Engineering and Construction Management Services with New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to replace all lighting systems on Region 10 highways and parkways.

The project will involve the removal and replacement of all existing lighting on approximately 5,300 highway lane miles throughout Long Island, including the Long Island Expressway, Northern State Parkway, Southern State Parkway, Meadowbrook State Parkway, Hecksher State Parkway and others. All work will be required to be completed in compliance with NYSDOT Guidelines for Maintenance and Protection of

Traffic utilizing rolling lane closures. The Long Island Expressway work will be required to be completed at night.

“This project is the next step in our street lighting program and will represent a significant undertaking for our CM Team,” said Robert Wyllie, Guth DeConzo’s General Superintendent. “These highways and parkways are heavily traveled at all times of day and night and completing them safely will be a priority.”

The project is currently scheduled for construction to start in Fall, 2024 with a projected completion date of May, 2025.
