Guth DeConzo, an Engineering and Construction Management Firm with offices in New York City, Troy, NY, Lake Success, NY and Stony Brook, NY, has been
awarded a contract with New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Design and Construction to provide Construction Management Services to assist OGS in the overall management of the Empire State Plaza Infrastructure Program.
This program includes approximately $150 million in construction value spanning close to 30 projects that will upgrade and replace aging infrastructure at the
Empire State Plaza over the next five years. Work will include upgrades and modifications to fire alarm systems, escalator and elevators, and existing mechanical and
electrical equipment/services to increase energy efficiency. Also included will be structural repairs to the surrounding stairways, tunnels, parking garages, storm-water
collection systems, etc. and the repaving of the surrounding parking lots and roadways that serve the plaza.
“Once again, our Construction Management Group is being recognized for their efforts overseeing infrastructure upgrades at Empire State Plaza and continues our long- standing working relationship with OGS,” said Jeremy McDonald, Principal of Guth DeConzo. “The projects planned under this portfolio are logistically and technically difficult, but they are the types of projects where our CM Group excels. They require a high level of technical expertise as well as extensive coordination with the various agency stakeholders. I have full confidence our CM Team will meet all expectations.”
The Empire State Plaza Infrastructure Upgrades Program is scheduled to begin in August, 2023 with a projected completion date of December, 2028.
