Guth DeConzo, an Engineering and Construction Management Firm with offices in New York City, Troy, NY, Lake Success, NY and Stony Brook, NY, announced on Monday, February 13, 2023, several new hires as well as two internal promotions:
- Carrie Phillips will be joining the CM Group as a Construction Project Accountant and will be based out of the Troy Office.
- Chris Neely will be joining the CM Group as a Construction Superintendent and will be based on-site at NYPA’s Clark Energy Center overseeing Guth’s construction operations.
- Matt Christian has been promoted to Senior Construction Manager and is based out of the Troy Office. Matt started with Guth directly out of college in June, 2017 and, according to Guth Principal Jeremy McDonald, “embodies all of the traits that the CM Group expects from our Construction Managers. Matt brings a steading presence to all of his projects and is a role model for all of our younger Construction Managers to emulate.”
- Julio Ramirez has been promoted to Senior Construction Superintendent and is based out of the Lake Success Office. Julio started with Guth in March, 2020 and has been involved significantly in both of Guth’s NYC HHC Lincoln Hospital Projects – Fuel Tank Replacement and Phase 1B. Jeremy McDonald said, “Through all of the challenges which come with excavating a 50’ x 50’ x 20’ hole at the entrance to the busiest trauma hospital in NYC, Julio (along with Tyler and Kevin) has been a steady presence, providing the Facility with the confidence Julio, and Guth, are always acting in their best interest and the best interest of the project.”
Craig Johansen, Assistant Director of Construction Management added, “Our greatest achievement as a CM Group is not the projects we are tasked with building but rather creating the next generation of great Construction Managers and Superintendents.”
