University at Albany – Campuswide Lighting and HTHW Metering Project
Turnkey services for the installation of 36 HTHW meters throughout the uptown campus. Work was primarily done during summer hours and coordinated with a facility shutdown. The project utilized Flexim Meters with Flexim’s new F/G 721 platform which was integrated seamlessly into the facility BMS
The lighting portion of the project included replacing approximately 8,000 interior and 1500 interior fixtures throughout the main and downtown campuses.
Two highlights in this project were the Palm Tree Lighting in some of the original campus buildings and the lighting in the SEFCU Arena. The palm tree lighting was architecturally incorporated into the curvature of the building ceiling. The new install included custom strips, lenses, and lens frames as well as controls for lighting setbacks, dimming and daylight harvesting. The SEFCU arena lighting included a color-changing LED system with preset scenes for games and special event. The DMX control system controls the color output of each fixture, and the control system was incorporated into the scoreboard for added viewer excitement.
