Guth DeConzo, an Engineering and Construction Management Firm with offices in New York City, Troy, NY, Lake Success, NY and Stony Brook, NY, has been awarded a contract for Design-Build Management Services on the NYC Transit Bus Charging Phase 2/3 Project. This $300M project will provide approximately 475 overhead pantograph charging stations for NYCT’s fleet of electric buses at ten bus depots throughout the Metro New York City area. In addition, the project will include substantial Con Edison power upgrades at six of the ten depots.

Jeremy McDonald, Principal of Guth DeConzo, in announcing the contract award stated, “This award follows on the success of our NYC Transit Bus Charging Phase 1 Project as well as our electrification projects throughout the Northeast corridor and for our major car rental partners at airports throughout the United States. Guth DeConzo is committed to delivering technically complex and logistically challenging projects safely, on time and on budget.”

As Design-Build Manager, Guth DeConzo will be responsible for development of all bridging documents related to the ten depot sites and overseeing the procurement process in accordance with Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) best practices. Following award of construction contracts, Guth DeConzo will oversee the day-to-day construction operations at all sites, including the six depots undergoing Con Edison infrastructure upgrades. Upon construction completion, Guth DeConzo will lead start-up and commissioning efforts to bring all systems on-line in advance of NYCT bus delivery, currently scheduled to begin in 2025.

Overall project completion is projected for December, 2026.
